World Cup 2 - Tips for Curitiba

Curitiba is my hometown. The Atletico Arena is really close to my flat and I usually, went to the gym there. So, what I write here can have some emotional influence.
Well, they say Curitiba is safe but now I can say, I live better in Sao Paulo. The increase of kidnapping, stoles and homicides made me leave the city. So, I am not saying don't go. Just take extra care.
The city is amazing, I wrote a lot about it here.
Well, to stay you can stay in downtown and go by walking to the station. The rent in the area should had increased.
If you say in a place like Mabu, Slavieiro Rockfeller, even the cheaper one Formula 1. You can go by walking (I am speaking about walking, so.. no heals). Ibis hotel at Largo Sao Francisco or Downtown are medium price and can be good.
Camping there.... awful ideea. No place to do it, and it is very cold.
If you have questions about Curitiba, please write me. I enjoy it.

What to do in Curitiba?

My brother is always complain about my love for Curitiba... He loves Sao Paulo, not sure he would able to write 10 things you should in his city like this.

1 - Visit a least 3 of your parks. Ride a bike between them. They are connect by a bike roads. Each of them have their own personality. My favorite is Tanguá, where I go looking for peace. Free University of the Environment for the design space with nature space. Roller skating in Barigui for the smooth area.

2 - Ride in St. Louis Purunã with lunch or coffee there. My favorite was the horsing tours until the canyons. For the foodies, have the a stop in Wittmarsung.

3 - Down the river  in gigant floodings for the most radical travellers. Go to Morretes by train, but the landscape will depend on the weather. For the no so radical, having the typical dish called "barreado" will be nice too...
4 - Madalosso Restaurant in Santa Felicidade because one day it was in Guinness Book as the world's largest restaurant ... some people still are fascinated by big things. I liked the "Casa dos Arcos", really for locals. Not touristic food.
5 - The Matsuri (Japanese festival) - I particularly like and it shows our diversity. Two festival by year, one for spring and other for imigration. You have delicious food, music and the most funnier comics costumes.

6 - Colonial Café: Coeur Douce at XV street or Bacacheri in Aquarius for an indulgence ... usually women will enjoy the abundance at low cost.

7 - Eat "pinhao", give a credit may be that they do not like ... but worth the anthropological experience. It may be the soup of pinhao too. You will find this just around winter, it is cooked or grilled. For cooking, this at home I would advise a few internet research. Not easy... (Charlotte, don't do this by yourself at the first time).

8 - If the person is not also visit the Northeast, it is worth risking a forró ... Alice Bar on Saturdays. It is not forro, but I like Bossa Nova.
9 - Tower Telepar, when clear weather ... Beautiful sunset with an idea of the city.

10 - Churrascaria Rodizio - meat, meat, meat - better and cheaper than the one in Sao Paulo.

Schooner - Shopping Local

A nautic Inspiration in a Gray City!

I think very strange when a local brand pretend to be a international one. Even more bizarre when I discover it is made here in my own city! The seller was really ashamed when she told me my dress was produced here in Curitiba.A little more of research, I discover Schooner produced nautic produts and change its main target for a bigger public, cosmopolitan woman and man who wants to dress weel cut pieces and be causal as the same time.

Simple and chic designs, basic colours and very "lucid fashion".

Negative points, some common between my friends... too risky to wear a floral dress and found one more at the same party. Sales happens in august and march. Never buy the fresh collection the fare reduction after two months are just amazing.
