It should be a hard punishment for compare Jorge Ben Jor with Michel Telo.
I guess the best show I went in my whole life was performed by Jorge Ben Jor. He is make this amazing music that even the ones that don't dance in the room will be jumping at the end of his concert. Some lyrics are nonsense, some speak about girls... my favorite is Taj Mahal. My main regret in life is knowing that my former belgian boyfriend has a picture with him!

Saturday is not day of deep talks about politics... Michel Telo is bad bad brazilian music, but we have very new generation of musicians out of the mainstrain.
It is well know that Sax is not very typical brazilian sound, but Monte Pascoal from Belo Horizonte city makes an remarkable work.

Tulipa Ruiz - New Brazilian Quality Music - NO MICHEL TELO!!!

It is good indication of my brother... she is likely my neighbor (It is really nice live in this alternative area in Sao Paulo)... well, she won the best new singer award in 2011. Still a very calm voice for easy going moments.... She was on tour last March in Lisbon. I hope she did great there!

Brasilia - no pictures, just stories.

Of course, I went to Brasilia and as it was a job travel didn't take my camera... so just facts about Brasilia.

1- Brasilia is the capital of Brazil... not Rio, not Sao Paulo or even Buenos Aires.
2- The original plan was made by Lucio Costa, born french modernist architec... french for a delivery mistake, he had brazilian parents and lively participation in our art history... short but it exists.
3- Ferreira Gullar, concretist poet. I just get attonish for all his inovative brain... just to be short he writes e-poems and was consider for a Nobel Prize.

Capoeira! Play, fight or dancing?

Capoeira was born from Brazilian Slavery History, it was a smart way of african-slaves in Brazil trainning their fight skills and pretending they are dancing.
The moviments are just amazing they just seems to fly, the fact of being a marcial art with music it just add more charm.
By chance this picture was taken in Manaus, but I could be in others north-northeast areas. Not so common to see performances at streets in others regions.

I just came back from a STOMP performance. I just have one word: BRAVO! In the way back home, I asked my boy which would be the "most artistic" one... STOMP or "Il barbiere di Siviglia" by Rossini?
