Sweet Marisa

Today we will skip the main dish and go straight to desert. “Não é proibido” means “is not forbidden”. It is a “food lyric” with a great easy rhythm.

The singer is the carioca Marisa Monte, a famous name respected by all kinds of public. She has some interesting story, her initial career was in the opera/jazz and she sung in small pubs in Rome in 1980’s! Now, she is well established female voice in national music and Grammy’winner.

In the food area, if you understand all the references in this song, you should be Brazilian and older than 30 years. It is a quite simple lyric, but not allowed for diabetics.
Typically, Brazilians love the sweet taste of life and there is a lot of sugar in our desserts. Now, we make music to it! In this song you have a full bunch of sugar goodies, since commercial popular candies names “Frumelo” or “Bala Juquinha". There is ice cream, "brigadeiro" and "paçoca" too.

I will not explain all the references in Marisa Monte’s song, it will be to easy… you need to try them.

If it is your first time: Take care, Brazilian candies are truly sweet!
Enjoy Marisa! She is sweet also… it is not forbidden, just enjoy it!
